Double Elimination
Double elimination gives every team a second chance. Teams start in the winner's bracket and drop to the loser's bracket after their first defeat — only a second loss eliminates a team entirely. The last team standing in the loser's bracket meets the winner's bracket champion in a grand final. TournaQ tracks both brackets simultaneously.
How it works
The organiser configures the draw size and seeding. TournaQ generates both the winner's and loser's brackets and manages the flow of teams between them as results come in. Every match placement is handled automatically — including the grand final, which may require two matches if the loser's bracket finalist wins the first game.
Setup options
- Number of teams: 4, 8, or 16
- Seeding: random draw or manual placement
- Grand final format: one or two matches
- Match format: configurable sets and points per match
Best for
- Competitive tournaments where one bad match shouldn't end a team's run
- Events where players want more guaranteed matches than single elimination
- Brackets where seeding quality is uncertain and upsets are expected
- Formats where the final should feature the two strongest surviving teams
