Royal Duos

King of the Court played in fixed pairs. You enter as a duo and keep that partner for the whole tournament, so the ranking is by team rather than by player. This is a queue mode: if you have not read how the queue, the ejections and the ranking work, start with Queue Modes.

How it works
1
You enter as a pairYour partner is settled before the first whistle and does not change again.
2
Hold the courtWin and you stay. Lose and the duo goes back to the queue.
3
The round ends on the clockThe duos are spread across the courts again — new opponents, same partner.
4
Team standingsEvery point and every game is credited to the duo, not to the two players separately.
The same engine as Royal Rotations, with one setting changed
Royal Duos runs on Royal Rotations’ pages — the same setup form, the same tournament page, the same queue scorecard. What differs is that the pairs are fixed instead of redrawn every round, so anywhere Royal Rotations says “player”, this mode says “duo”.
Where the duos come from
Pairing

Set at setup, and fixed once the tournament begins. Which unit you count in is your choice — shuffling is a question about people, picking is a question about pairs.

ShuffleHand it a list of players and it draws the duos for you. Redraw the whole set, or swap a single pairing, right up until the tournament starts.
Pick teamsEnter the duos yourself — from your team hub in Administration, or built here on the spot.
If a partner has to leave
There are no stand-ins in Royal Duos: half a duo is not a competitor. Sit the pair out for a single round and it is back for the next one, or take it out of the tournament for good — either way it keeps the points it has already earned.

Best for
Partners who want to play a queue mode together instead of being split up by the draw
Clubs running a team ranking on a single evening, without a fixture list to schedule
Groups who like the pace of King of the Court but want a table that credits the pair
Where it sits in the Arena

Royal Duos sits under Team Competitions, beneath a Queue Modes subheading — the roster is fixed teams and the ranking is by team, which is what puts it there rather than with the Scramble Modes.
